Why you shouldn't sleep on your face

GIRLS, DO NOT SLEEP ON YOUR FACE!

Sleeping can be fun but not when it starts messing with your face. This is a struggle I have been having for the past probably 6-9 months which may seem a lot of time but this issue escalated gradually.
So it all started about a year ago when I got my industrial piercing. For those of you who don't know, it's basically a metal bar going from one end of the ear to the other on the upper cartilage. Something like this. PS: It's not my picture.

Of course, with every piercing comes aftercare so I had to clean it daily with salty solutions and all that jazz. This piercing made it pretty much impossible to sleep on that side of my face/ear (which in my case, was my left ear) so I decided to sleep facing down on the right side of my face and I found it to be very comfortable.

One day, I was watching Desi Perkin's Snapchat story (which if you don't know, she's an important beauty blogger/influencer) and she was talking about how her eyelids were experiencing changes, they were droopier than before and she assumed it was because she was sleeping facing down. So, I knew perfectly I was doing the same thing but I didn't pay much attention because in my mind I was: "I'm too young to have my eyelids drooping" "That can't happen to me" and blah, blah, blah. Well, here I am today, having the same issue.

It was all fun and games until I started noticing my eyelids having like a doble fold which I had never had because I have very big eyes and I always considered them to be spacious and the ultimate eye goals. There's a lot of room for me to do eye looks. However, I did not panic. I thought it was going to go away in a matter of a couple days. It didn't.  It, actually, got worse.

After a while, I decided to find a solution so I thought I wouldn't sleep facing down (keep in mind, I had already been sleeping like this for 6 months). The only downside was that sleeping facing down became pretty much the only way I could fall asleep. And I tried. I tried sleeping facing up, sleeping on my side, I even tried putting both of my arms around my head, as if I was raising my hands, so I couldn't move my head. Nothing worked.

I'm going to insert before and after pictures now.

Before picture. Taken on: November 25th, 2015. Before I got my piercing. My right eye was fine, no fold, nothing. Please, excuse my poor make-up skills and my not-fleeky eyebrows.

This picture was taken on July 20th, 2016. And you can start seeing my eye now has a little fold.

After picture. This picture was taken a few days ago, January 12nd, 2017. When I look straight up, my eye has a big fold. And even looking down, it folds way too many times, not like before. PS: Now that is an eyebrow glo-up😂

A comparison. My left eye folds but not nearly as much as my right eye.

You can now see the fold reaches my outer corner which does not make me happy. One of my eyes looks smaller, believe it or not. It's hard to see my eye shape change.

Girls, just take my word. You don't wanna have droopy eyelids by the age of 20 so take care of yourselves, do not sleep on your face because it can cause what it caused me or premature wrinkles.

PS: If you have any solution or idea how it can go away, please let me know. I'm willing to do anything. Thank you.
